Winnipeg and region attractions.

Winnipeg is capital of Manitoba. It is located south of the lake with the same name, from which it gets its name. The city stands at the confluence of the Red and Assiniboine rivers, almost in the geographical center of North America.

Most of the attractions in Winnipeg is located in the Old Town. At the point where the confluence of the Red and Assiniboine rivers, is a historic district Forks. Forks literally translates as “fork”. About 6,000 years ago, there was a meeting place for leaders of Indian tribes and trade occurred between Indians and during colonization formed an important trading post.
